Sasha & Grumpy

Since last weekend, Sasha has been staying at my house as DJ's family has to host a guest at their place. It has been quite an experience to have 2 dogs home for so many days. Good thing was Grumpy & Sasha have stopped being hostile to each other, on another hand, they have become really loving. On top of that, my grandma is also getting used to Sasha's presence at home. Even though she may be more biased towards Grumpy, i'm happy that she has accepted Sasha!

With Sasha around, my lifestyle has a little change too! I have to get up earlier everyday & head home from work every night to bring Sasha for her walks. Unlike Grumpy, Sasha doesn't like emptying her stomach at home, she will hold & wait until she gets downstairs. I've also learned that it's not easy to take care of 2 dogs alone, esp when we have 2 very strong dogs!

It has been a tiring week, but it is actually a small price to pay especially when i get to see them all excited at the door, waiting to play with me everyday. And when night falls, Grumpy & Sasha will sleep so soundly side by side while i skype with DJ, now that just warms my heart.

As i write this entry, it makes me want to head home to see them!

Let us pray for this little kid who will be going through a little op this week. May he still be all smiley, feeling the least pain possible. He's a blessed child and i'm sure the big man up there will help ellie go through the little op smoothly.

last night, i caught an episode on "Stars for a Cause", where celebrities join volunteer organisations to different countries for social work. the country featured was in Catanduanes (Philippines), and it was definitely heartbreaking to see the condition of their living environment.

i was in tears when i saw the living condition of this boy. his dad had passed away, leaving him to take care of his 3 siblings while his mother works overseas. it really moved me, seeing how sensible a young boy can be. every month, his mother will return with a small sack of rice that will last them 1 month which looks too little for their consumption. other than rice, they fill their stomach with sweet potato & veg, no meat at all. that really bothers me, as these kids are at the age when they need sufficient nutrition. there's a huge load in my heart as i write this entry.

i'm hoping that i can find time to reach out to these family/kids. there's simply so much that we can help them in. it'll be a great way to give back to the society.

we are so lucky, aren't we?

it was such an inspirational film, i really enjoyed it very much!

Coco Chanel has a unique personality of her own, her drive to make a name for herself was absolutely remarkable. it really makes me appreciate the designs by "Chanel" now.

grumpy & sasha finally met over the weekend!

and we are really glad to see them they getting along fine!

the usual aggressiveness in grumpy was kept away, she was so accepting... that makes me so proud of her! my worry of them not getting along can finally be cast aside!

right now, my only issue is that i can't seem to identify who is the elder sister here. sasha being taller & bigger, she naturally became the elder sista leading grumpy everywhere. but i could see grumpy trying to be the elder sister too! while sasha has been leading grumpy everywhere, grumpy has been trying to lead sasha around too. she also willingly shared her toys with sasha, just like how an elder sister would.

well, whoever the elder sister it may be, i'll still love them the same!

Sasha's finally released from quarantine!

I was so excited the night before, i had a hard time falling asleep and my eyes were wide open at 730am the next morning!

Before i left the house, my dearest grandma reminded me on all the things i need to bring for Sasha.

1. Dry food - checked!
2. Can food - checked!
3. Towels - checked!
4. Toys - checked!
5. Dog bowl - checked!
6. Wet wipes - checked!

She even spoke to Grumpy (in cantonese) "You must be a good girl. Your mom's going off to fetch Sasha, you must be nice to her when you meet her tomorrow"

When i reached the quarantine centre, Bong (her caretaker) greeted me & told me to wait while he'll bring Sasha out.

5 minutes later, i saw this little head sticking out from the door. It was SASHA!

She went hysterical when she realised it was me! She jumped all over me, greeting me with lotsa kisses! We then took her weight, she now weighs 18kg. She has lost 2kg!

She was extremely excited to be FINALLY getting out of there. We all know it has been a tough 4 weeks for her...

When i open my car door, it was so natural for her to hop onto the car & sit. With her tail wagging, she waited as i got ready to start the car. It felt so good to see her sit beside me.....!

A little hiccup in the car, as Sasha was sitting really tall and she was blocking my view of the side mirror. Every now & then, she will pop her face over to kiss me and that definitely obstructed my driving. But after i instructed her to stay, she realised she'd better stay still before i get mad.

We finally reached her new home in Bishan, and she was really happy to see some familiar faces - Webster & Malcolm! Being curious, she explored the whole house except Web's room & DJ's parents room which i told her not to. I'm glad she listens to me even when DJ's not around.

So the long awaited moment for Sasha to be home is finally over! Now, i just hope that she will settle in well in her new home.

Tomorrow will be the day when Sasha will finally be home!

I'm so excited!!!

Pick-up time will be at 1030am, i bet i'll already be at the door step by 10am. i really can't wait!

Sasha will be staying at DJ's place for the time being until both Grumpy & Grandma accepts her living together with us under one roof. But in the meantime, we're also looking for a place to call our home, somewhere big enough for the 2 girls to run around in. Till then, i hope Sasha will love her new home together with DJ's family! Sasha definitely deserve alot of love, my poor girl... she has really gone through alot.

We have prepared a surprise for her too. When night falls tomorrow, i'll bring her along to pick up DJ at the airport!! He's so sweet to plan a trip back just to welcome Sasha home. She'll be so pleased to see DJ at the airport!

and i know for sure, tomorrow will be a really wonderful day for me...

Grumpy has been snoozing away since 2pm this afternoon! I tried waking her up afew times, but each time she'll look at me innocently, snuggle towards me, gave a good loud sigh & got back to sleep again... She's so tired after a day of sun, sand & waggies!

She's such a baby... and that just makes me love her even more*
